Triangles are congruent if they have all three sides equal (SSS), two sides and the angle between them equal (SAS), or two angles and a side equal (ASA). SSS and SAS When two triangles are congruent, all three pairs of corresponding sides are congruent and all three pairs of corresponding angles are congruent. SAS Congruence Rule: Two triangles are congruent if two sides and the included angle of one triangle are equal to the two sides and the included angle of the other triangle.ĪSA Congruence Rule: Two triangles are congruent if two angles and the included side of one triangle are equal to the corresponding two angles and the included side of the other triangle.ĪAS Congruence Rule: Two triangles are congruent if two angles and a non-included side of one triangle are equal to the corresponding angles and the non-included side of the other triangle. However, we do not necessarily need to individually verify that all angle pairs and side pairs match exactly to be sure that two triangles are congruent. TLW apply ASA, AAS, and HL to construct triangles and to solve problems. If two triangles are congruent, it means that all corresponding angle pairs and sides are the same. TLW prove triangles congruent by using SSS and SAS.
